Welcome to the Fenway and Longwood Medical Area Report Card! The Fenway and Longwood Medical Area neighborhoods are densely packed with a wide variety of iconic Boston landmarks. Educationally, these two neighborhoods may have the highest per capita rate of colleges and schools than any of the other Boston neighborhoods. There are seven colleges as well as both Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School. It’s also home to the oldest high school in the nation (Boston Latin, established in 1635). As a result, these two neighborhoods are filled to the brim with students who bring with them a lively vibe. Longwood Medical Area consists of some of the best hospitals in the nation including Children’s, Brigham and Women’s, Beth Israel, and Dana Farber. There is also Fenway Park, where the Red Sox play as well as both the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts
Cutting right through the middle of these neighborhoods is the calming force that is the Back Bay Fens, a park in the Emerald Necklace Park System, with a beautiful rose gardens and community gardening plots.
